Have you had any large swings in your parameters lately? Alk swings can cause this type of recession....it has for me. Stability is key.

IME, my alk use to be 6-7dkh, one day two weeks ago discovered alk dropped to 5.5. It set me alarm and try to raise back to 7dkh. Unfortunately dosing NaHCo3 for that day increased up to 9dkh. My BN and red planet started to STN from bottom even one monti also. Managed to safe some immediately by fragging. Increase 1-2dkh a day in my case should be ok that an expensive lesson learned:sad2:

I've used Furan2 for treating bacterial infections in tangs, by soaking the food in Furan and then feeding, takes some time but works. Never used Furan2 on coral. If stn is due to vibrio bacteria, it might work. This would probably be a last option to try out.
