Yeah, I'm not sure what the implications of using GEII instead of I like you're supposed to, but my guess is especially if it hadn't totally cured, that it was leaching something into the water that is hazardous to your tank. All silicone leaches stuff as it cures. Sorry about your situation...I hope it all resolves itself quickly. If there's one thing that I've learned, it's that a lot of this stuff can be very resiliant. I nuked the tank with Kalk and shot the pH up to 10, which is 100 times more potent than 8.0, and a lot of my stuff survived.
