Source of Pure Spirulina?

I am finishing a recipe to make my own frozen fish food, and I want to include Spirulina in the mix.

Does anyone have a source for pure Spirulina flakes?

I am not talking about that crap sold in the normal fish trade, which has ingredients like fish meal, soy, wheat flour and phosphate! :hammer: If I wanted to feed that stuff to my fish, I would just go out and buy a bag of Old Roy's dog biscuits! :lolspin:

Can anybody point me in the right direction? :fish1:

Thanks.

Spirulina should be avail in capsule/tablet form for human consumption at any health store.
Not sure of the purity though, sorry.

That's a thought - I'll see if I can find it in powder or granular form w/o additives or phosphates...

Yeah you have to watch some of those ingredients. Also Omega One usually has good ingredients, I know I feed that to my freshwater fish.

Since you are making a frozen food why not get the coarse spirulina powder?

Good question. I might get that if I can't locate the flakes.

I will blend the shrimp, mussels, squid and other ingredients to different sizes for the fish. I planned to soak Nori and Spirulina in garlic and Selcon, and fold it in at the end of the blend to retain the texture.

Thanks again.
