SouthDown Natural Play Sand

I am speaking to a home depot manager in central florida. He said he is pretty sure he may be able to get southdown/yardright/oldcastle natural playsand. He said it would either be a one time deal and I would have to buy a 1/2 pallet or he could stock it. If he was to get a half pallet I would need to get people together for a order of sand. For you who do not know about this sand, it is a 100% araganite sand (carribean sand) that is sold in 50lb bags for less then $5. What a sweet deal I must say! So whoever is in the central florida region and wants to participate please reply here or send me a PM. Thank You!

BTW this HD is in Brevard county.

I'm goint to get 6 bags and I have 10 more bags sold to people on other forums. I havent asked locally yet but i;m sure I can get at lease 1/2 the pallett sold. The guy I was speaking to was out today. He will be in tommarow.

Well so far i have 43 bags that are waiting to be sold. Now I have to get with the guy at HD to place the order. Hopefully we don't have to pay shipping. If we do it may raise the price of the sand a couple dollars, nothing to worry about.

WOW!! With all these people wanting this product, I wonder why HD doesn't stock it normally. Once I get the shippment ordered it will arrive in Melbourne, FL. The HD is on 192, near the mall.

There are 2 HUGE of reasons to stock it:
1.) For aquariums
2.) For Sand boxes because it contains no silica (silica has been linked to lung cancer)

We know, but it competes with the sales of "aquarium grade" aragonite sand which is upwards of $15 a bag for around 20-30 lbs of the stuff. I think that's why they don't stock it here in FL.

I know you can go to any home depot in the north east as far south as Tenn. and get it from any HD. Thats what I don't get.....Is "aquarium sand" non existent up there?
