Long-Short story

Someone tried quite some time ago before this club existed, bottom line is you had to order something like 2 pallets (56 per?) to make it worth their wild, ended up costing about $20 per bag, flakiness on both sides. Never happened

Talk to some of the other reef clubs on the east coast if they still make the stuff, from what I understand CaribSea bought out the company or something to retain the monopoly on the stuff.

previous to that attempt, there WAS a successful Southdown purchase, and even at $20/bag (it was actually cheaper, but the club BARE took a "donation" off the top). That was $20 for a 50lb bag. At the LFS, it's $20 for a 20lb bag. So it's a savings, but not worth the massive headache. Southdown WAS a super bargain when people were finding it at HD and paying $3 (yes three bucks) a bag for it, but that was more prevalent on the East coast, and I don't think it's even sold anymore.
