Spa Flex/Flexible PVC locally?

Hello everyone,

I'm in the midst of changing my sump from under the tank to the basement and I wanted to limit the number of 45 and 90 degree bends if at all possible.

Anyone know of a place that sells this locally? What type of solvent do I need as well? The online vendor on the DIY list won't ship it 'cause its flammable.

I tried HD and a local plumbing supply in Freeport with no luck.

Thanks.

I just posted that I will be moving my sump to the basement as well. Please let me know if you find it.

What kind of table are you going to put everything on?

Hey Lee, I have seen it at ace hardware in bellmore. I think it was 1.5 inch. How bout them RANGERS!

Like Fio1022 mentioned savko is a great source. I especially liked their single union ball valves. The manufacturer is G.F. which I believe is George Fisher Co. They are very smooth and will operate when you you need them. They are much better than the valves offered by Home Depot and Lowes. Worth the extra money. Also make sure that you but Flexiable PVC cement. Savko also sells it. Its made for SPA hose.

How do you calculate what pump you need after you move everything and add the extra plumbing? I think I also want to take the refugium out of the sump and plumb another one inline.

All the Lowes that I have been to sell 1" & 1.5" Spa-Flex. Any other sizes you should order from Savko. I've only seen the flex cement in one place locally which was Aquarium Adventure in Carle Place.

FWIW, I've tried medium PVC cement on Spa-Flex with no leaks but if given the choice, I'd go safe with the right product.

Thanks for the tips everyone! I need 1/2", 3/4" and 1" flex PVC so I think I'm going to have to order online. Only thing I don't like about savko.com is that you can't order less than 5', but they do sell the correct solvent. I'm familiar with Aquarium Adventure, so if I can get the solvent there or from Ace I'll order from plumbingsupply.com since you can get under 5' pieces of flex pvc from them.

mgny - I sure like how those Rangers are playing lately, let's hope they keep it up. I know the poor Isles got some bad news recently :P

bobbbm - I used the head loss calculators on RC to help with pump selection. I only have a 5ft basement with about 7 ft. of head. I'll put a stock tank on top of a wood stand I build or I may just use cinder blocks to raise it a bit. You can pm me if you want more details.

Thanks again all. I'll post after I purchase.
