Spearer or Smasher

I have a 20g aquarium and i am wanting to get a mantis shrimp and people I have talked to said that Smashers are less likely to break the glass. And a mantis shrimp owner told me to feed it prepared foods and fiddler crabs.

Can you tell me the species that can fit in a 20g aquarium and won't break the glass. Send a link to were I can buy one.

This is what the mantis will live in. 9lbs rock 2" of sand(if I get the mantis I will add 2 more inches.)

smashers are more likely to break the glass then spearers. but with that said there are very few cases were even a large sized peacock have broken a glass tank and usualy it is the bottom of the tank or on the edges were the 2 pieces of glass meet. i keep my 4in peacock in a 20g glass tank with no problems. the tank is linned with acrylic on the bottom and i made a home for him out of 2" PVC pipe in the shape of a U. if you get a spearer then the sand bed need to be deeper then the mantis is long. there are many options out there and you could home about all of them in that tank. just take the extra precautions and you should be fine. just do your research and decide which species you want to keep.

if your're looking to get a smasher i would get some more live rock and some live rock rubble so the mantis can build with it.
