Spearers break glass?

Anyone know if the spearers are able to break glass when they become larger? I have one in a 10gal glass tank but will be upgrading to a 30gal and curious if I can stick with glass or if I should get acyrlic

as I understand it, they can break open snails and such, but I don't think I've ever heard of one cracking a tank.

It depends on the "spearer". Smaller species such as Pseudosquilla ciliata, species of Raoulserenea, Squilla, etc. cannot break a standard 10 gal aquarium - nor can they break any mollusk except for a very thin shelled clam. A very are squillid (over 7 inches) or Lysiosquillid such L. maculata has a fairly strong defensive closed dactyl strike. It is conceivable, but highly unlikely that a 12 inch male could break a 10 gal - but it would need a much larger tank anyway. I've keep a lot of very large spearers and have never lost to tank to one.
