Specimen ID's Please

This is Gulf Live Rock...

Looking at two different creatures here.

Can anyone identify them? I'm pretty sure the guy on the left is an anemone (probably aiptasia... I heard the stuff from the gulf is not as bad as the pacific??)

Is the one on the right a coral or another anemone?

I have taken several trips to the Texas coast around Port Aransas and there are a lot of common gulf rock anemones out there. They are super sticky, but generally aren't pests. They won't host anything though and most people choose not to keep them as pets

Ha!

I did get something super sticky on my hands when I was handling the rock. It was hard to get off even with soap and water!

I agree the left one is aiptasia, but the right one kinda reminds me of corynactis/pseudocorynactis species.

Agreed. The right one looks like a pretty corynactis/ball anemone (actually not an anemone, but a relative of mushrooms).

+1 on both identifications. I love ball anemone's, just they don't often end up in easy to see spots. Kill the Aiptasia, I use AiptasiaX with good success, pepermint shrimp make a good natural predator that are reef safe as well.
