Spent Too Much on Corals...So Reef Buddy

So i've spent too much money on corals lately...and i'm thinking...I'm one accident away from total loss...

The possibility of a total coral loss makes me think, shouldn't we all have a Reef Buddy? Like, if I buy a frag, as soon as it's big enough to split into 2 frags I could give half of it to my Reef Buddy so if one of us has a crash, the Reef Buddy could frag me my old frag and no total loss...it'd be super easy to do...and then you'd get free frags from your Reef Buddy just for providing the insurance!

Reef Buddy Tank Insurance. RBTI.

What do you think of this idea?

There are some of us in the Chico area that do that to help keep the corals we have happy and thriving. What part of northern Cali are you in?

I actually do that with 3 or 4 friends depending how big the frag is or sometimes we wait till it grows out and pass it along.
That way if my tank crashes. I have access to some of my favorite pieces and I'm not spending so much on corals since everyone in the group buys corals randomly

You Might want to get ahold of afamousjohnson from the Chico club I be leave they have a don't brake the chain program between club members to do this very thing .

:thumbsup:I've been doing this with my buddy for 5 years. Saved each of us once! Plus you both end up with nice Hugh end pieces

Here I thought it was going to be a buddy like AA to keep you from spending anymore on corals, LOL.

Hahaha - definitely another awesome and needed system - I like it lol

Coral buddies are a must - dont have a tank without one lol - could be the only glue to keep you in the hobby after the un thinkables - which do happen.

The dbtc is another awesome way to do it if you get in with the club scene. Good seeing you round the forums flying bones - noticed ya on the local recently aswell. H8z (Brandon) is a good one and he is local to Oroville.

We do have a break the chain but been a little neglected there are several of us here in chico. Here is fts of my 200 peninsula
