Spider sponge problem

I got a spider sponge a few months ago and it was doing great for a month or so, but then for whatever reason it fell into my rockwork and I could not find it. About a week ago I upgraded the flow in my tank and low and behold, it got blown out to where I could reach it! Now the sponge (red) part is half bleached out, but the zoas on it (white) look great! Should I leave it alone and see what happens or cut off the white sponge part and mount the healthy part? Thanks!

The sponge is dying, the zoa on it are seperate. I would cut the it and leave it in the tank to see if you can save it. Yuo will need to try to target feed zooplakton to try to get it to come back. Good luck, post some pics of progress.

Well, it's been mounted to a rock for a couple of weeks now and it's looking good! The sponge still has it's color and the polyps are opening most of the time now. I squirt Rod's food at it every couple of days and it seems to really like that.
