I was cleaning the glass moments ago and jarred this loose from one of the corners of the tank. It looks like spiders web. long and whispy with hundreds of little white dots stuck to it.. ideas ????
All corals present and accounted for. The web stuff is clean and nothing else seems to be attaching itself to it either. I did look into the snails and I do have similar things growing in the rock but this looks different to them. We moved the tank a few months ago and lost our sally light foot crabs in the move.... I have seen an increase in the growth of the tube style web slingers since them... would it stand to reason that the sally's were keeping them under control? the sally's worked great but had a real taste for Xenia so if there is a less evasive way to control these tubes.. I am all ears.
This is the first time for this type of thing to be showing up in the tank and we have not added anything to it in the last little while either... I broke the web stuff up and sent most of it into the sump.. guess we will have to wait and see if anything comes of it. Thanks everyone for your comments and keep them coming if you anything further to add.
