i have some zoanthid eating spiders and don't know how to get rid of them. I tried an iodine dip, and they seem to like it. I found some pictures of them at ziod dot com.

I hate to do this because I like this place, but when I bought some zoo frags from salty critter i noticed one of these spiders on them. But I thought they were baby star fish because they were really small and hard to see. After a couple of weeks I noticed there were all over my lage colony. So beware of there zoo frags. sorry salty critter

SC is still a good store in my opinion, sometimes all stores get in livestock which they can not control or know what inhabits them...

It doesn't matter where you buy from. No shop is going to QT every coral coming in the door. Imagine trying to maintain a system like SC does, and still add a truckload of new corals to it every week, or two. I don't know how they keep things as in check as they do.

I can say I have bought a lot of livestock through SC, and I have also been to more than a few frag swaps. I've found pests/parasites from locals after swaps almost every time. To the best of my knowledge I've never gotten any from SC. It's just a good idea to QT/dip/inspect everything.

I don't care how reaonable sc is they should still have quaility stuff for prices they sell anybody for that matter. not only for our sakes but tha animals they take pride in:P

LOL... You think things are expensive now? Try going to any shop, and asking they QT every coral for 6-8 weeks before selling, and see which direction prices go. Its just not possible.

Sorry you have these predators in your tank.

However, I gotta say those things are cool as heck looking.

Aside from the end product that you may lose all of your zoo's.

Now that my wonder of science and the underwater world has been explored...your issue at hand.
REMOVAL
If they are a crustacean wouldn't the flea tick stuff for the acro's knock them out pronto?
Everyone says that their shrimp and crabs take a major hit when they treat for red bugs with it. Maybe that will knock these things out as well. Just a thought.

Oh don't be to hard on yourself about Q-tank. Mine is crusty and empty in the corner of my basement. Doh!

Look up the red bug removal bit. It might help.
