Spiny oyster

After the swap I stopped by Rms on the way home. I was shocked. A lot of dead things in there tanks. First time I ever saw that. Any way I got a spiny oyster there. From what I have read they feed on plankton. I feed my fans this so I think it should be fine. My question is I read they need to be placed in the same position they were in before being collected from the ocean. Does anyone know if this is true?

I have a big one (6") and have moved it all around with no issues.

I think about a year or so. It's definately grown.
