Super Abound
I received an acropora mini colony with what looks like a few spionid worms building tubes in its skeleton. it doesn't look like they are irritating the coral, the polyps are all open. they found exposed skeleton to take up residence in and i hope i can get the tissue to grow over the exposed skelly
there looks to be 3 barnacles that built their homes in the skeleton as well. the tissue is completely grown around them and they seem to be ok. anything i should be worried about?
a few people told me not to worry about them. i'm mostly worried they will start to reproduce and start infesting my other acros. they look like they are building tubes and not the calcareous burrower ones tho i don't know for sure. i will try and get a photo tomorrow and post in this thread.
i was gonna try the hot sewing needle into their tube to kill them. i hate to do it, i'd rather not but i would rather head off any pests at the start.
comments ideas suggestions? it seems like this may have been a part of a wild colony at one point, which would be my first. i dipped in revive for 10-12 minutes with physical agitation to remove pests, only things that died were amphipods, a bristleworm and a couple small snails lol
i am going to post this in the invertebrate forums as well
