"splotchy" green chromis

I bought a green chromis Thusday and acclimated pretty well - swimming actively (mostly toward the top of the tank) and eating. Today he's kind of sedate and there's a blotchy purple area on the center of him. Any thoughts?

When these fish are excited, like when eating, or stressed; they will change their colors. Happens to my pair all the time. At first I thought the worst; then I come to know better. You're most likely fine and he just needs to time to get used to his new home.

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, the spot turned really nasty pretty quickly and he hit bottom about an hour ago. tested my water and all was ok, guess I just got bad luck with this one - RIP green chromis.
