Sponge and EXTRAS!!!

Reefing On My Mind
Team RC
Ok, so as I stated in the other thread, I picked up this orange sponge in FL... I got it wicked cheap ($15), and was all excited about the extras I found when I got home... I currently have it in a 5 gal nano I'm in the process of setting up... On this sponge, I have 5 of these greenish yellow stars on them purple bands on their legs... Kinda worried about them... I know there are some problems with stars, and want to make sure they're ok before adding it to the 125... What I'm more concerned about is this thing I think is a nudi... Its yellow with red spike things on it... I wasn't too worried about it, till it laid two strings of eggs on the side of the tank... I want to move the sponge before they hatch if this is a bad nudi that I shouldn't have in my 125... Also if someone could help me to identify the other yellow ball thing on the side of the sponge, I think is also a sponge, and those red spike looking things on the other side... I'm going to try and post the pics I have... Thanks everyone!!!

I would be very leery of keeping any nudibranches in the tank and I would get rid of those eggs straight away.

The pictures are too small to see very well. But honestly I suck at identification anyways.

I tried uploading larger ones, but it said the file size was too large... Grrr... Like I said, new to this pic posting thing...

Looks like a yellow ball sponge. Be careful with the sponges, they must be kept underwater at all times or they may die. The nudi eggs may or may not hatch. If they do, the larvae will likely not survive unless their specific food needs are met, and nudis tend to be very specific feeders. All nudis are predatory on something, usually something desirable and therefore are not usually welcome in a reef tanks. You can post pics on a free account on photobucket or equivalent and link to it through RC using the img tags.
