Sponge Plague

I'm not sure if this is the correct forum to post this in, but here goes. I have been nearly overrun by these small, stringy, white fleshy spong looking things. Originally they strated and overrun my fuge. I was told at this time to as a solution to eradicate, cut off nutrient import into my fuge, which I did by cutting off my overflow pump during feeding. But unfortunately these sponges have now made into my main display and are reaching near plague proportions. I recently reduced the flow to this area of my display and think this may be the reason why they have taken a foothold in this area? Also wondering if anything eats these little buggers? I recently had my potters angle carpet surf and he seemed to always pick on my rocks and stuff like this? Any thoughts?

they're milky white and it's all over a couple large pieces of LR. Would be difficult to get them out of my tank at this point.

some research suggest that the presence of sponge in a reef aquaria is a sign of excellent water quality so congrats! job well done :)

but a million of them? Well would you believe 30? The are kind of funky looking, like white, thick snot dripping out of a kids nose! They are growing rapidly across some of my rock scape. I think my potters angle must have kept them at bay before he carpet surfed!
