Spontaneous Wanderlust of my BTA

Hi guys,
My peach BTA remained happily in one spot for 2-3 months rarely deviating whatsoever from his "perch" so to speak. Recently he has just gone A.W.O.L. and won't settle anywhere. Tank parameters are:

Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 0.3
Phospate: 0
Specific Gravity: 1.025
Alkalinity: 9.9 dKH
Calcium: 400ppm
pH: 8.45

I use an R.O. system with an inline deionisation chamber, so my top off water and water changes are the best i can get, I use Instant Ocean salt . I employ an Aquamedic Turboflotor 1000 Multi SL skimmer hanging on the back. Activated carbon in a multichambered canister filter. About 700 lph flow and about 15-20lbs Live Rock. At present the inhabitants are:

Ocellaris Clown
3 Hermits
Pom pom Crab
2 Snails
Cleaner Shrimp
Peach BTA
3 colonial rock anemones (filter feeders - 1" or so each)
3" rock of Zoanthid polyps (Zoanthus Sp.)
Some in tank Caulerpa harvested periodically to export nutrients

My bio-load is low and water quality high, filtration is more than adequate IMHO and the BTA itself is in great condition, growing rapidly and exhibiting full expansion of tentacles and eating well. It has no apparent irritants and the clown is hosting in it Only problem is the constant wandering. I have just totally rearranged the rockwork and provided a makeshift "anemone bommie" with crevices to facilitate hiding of its base but it doesnt seem to be having any of it. Lighting is a 150W Osram HQI 10,000K Halide about 30cm/12" from the surface and a 15W Actinic Fluorescent.

My anemone seems to love adhering to walls and pretty much everywhere it is inappropriate for it to reside. It almost got sucked into the 2500 GPH skimmer feed pump which is almost impossible to access. I have tried every location and substrate possible. Tank is a 20G pretty much devoted to it. Any suggestions would be great.

Ciaran.

Here is a pic from yesterday of the anemone:

what is your heat? is it fluxuating?

do you feed it on a regular basis?

I dont see to many crack s in your rocks. the holes are to big.
My anemone had major issues settling down. It was due to fluxuating salinity, and I was moving my rocks all the time, i dont think it liked it.

after it tested out every part of my tank.. twice... It settled on the smoothest rock i have... and the depth of the rocks there is deep.. its foot is buried all the way to the back of the glass.. and shes front and center in the middle. so maybe some smoothness with a quarter shaped crevis thats pretty deep... ?(has your swam yet? freaked me out!)
