Spot on Clownfish

So, I have a couple of clownfish that I've had for a little over a week in my tank. One of them, has developed a white nodule on one of its gills. I tried getting a picture, but it moves too fast :headwally:

Anyway, I don't think it's ich. I've seen ich on freshwater fish, and this looks nothing like it. It's just a single white spot that's been there for 4-5 days now. It doesn't rub up against anything, and it eats like crazy and is pretty active. Any ideas?

how big is the spot (try to guess in numbers of millimeters)? If it looks bigger than ich, it could be lymphocystis. If smaller, it could just be a piece of sand.

Hm, def have no idea on the size in mm. It's definitely bigger than sand (and much whiter than my sand in the tank). I'd probably say it's the size of a piece of pellet food, so maybe 1mm? It's actually a bump, so it protrudes out. It wasn't there when I first put him in.

If it's lymphocystis, what do I do for that?

Lympho is viral and can't do much as in terms of Meds. Just good diet and water and it'll go away on it's own. Doesn't see like ich from what you are describing.

So, the spot has changed and looks more like a fan shape protruding from its gill. Also, today I noticed his eyes are bug eyed. I've been doing water changes, nitrite/nitrate/ammonia all staying at zero. Salinity is about 1.024. Attaching the best pic I could get. He's eating fine and otherwise seems healthy.

So, that clownfish died. The other clownfish started to develop a white spot on his lip. I took him out and put in in the QT tank 2 weeks ago. Adding cupramine and melafix, but still doesn't look any better. If he opens his mouth, it almost appears as he's got a white, cottony growth inside his mouth. Any ideas??

white, cottony growth on fins, gills, mouths are usually caused by fungus. you may want to try fungal medications instead.
