GO NOLES!
(white) Right under his eye, what is it? I'm having a bad two days with my tank.

I'm not sure, it's the only spot on his body. It's not a hole...I can't tell if it is just a thin layer of something ( It looks like half of one of his darker spots are showing through) or if it's some kind of worm inside of it. It doesn't look like it is raised though, it looks more like a flat white spot.

If its above skin level, it may be some type of isopod. I'd try to just remove it with tweezers. I've done this with several mystery parasites. Hold him with a wet towel and be sure you don't do surgery over the tank---in case this thing explodes and releases more 'what-ever-the-hell-it-is". There are a lot of mystery parasites removed by divers, shippers, wholesalers, etc.

Wow..ok. I will have to work up the nerve to do it lol.

I took an isopod off a lion; so the puffer should be easy beans. Of course, you should be convinced that it's a parasite, I think it is, and have a helper. Puffers are usually easy to catch, a plus. Hold him with a small, clean wet towel and just get the little bugger off. Less than 60 seconds total. Don't panic; that could be dangerous.

I got up this afternoon and checked on his condition. The spot is pretty much gone. I guess I will just keep a close eye on him to make sure it doesn't come back.

Good. lots of unknown stuff like this can show up from time to time. (Like in my kids' rooms.) Most of it is harmless.
