Spots on Coral

My acro has "dead" spots on it...look like bad parts on a potato. Around this area it is bright light blue...almost fluorescent. Any ideas what this is?? I cannot post a pic today.

If they are darker spots, I think this is what you mean by the potato, I believe thats a bacterial infection which would be best treated by an Lugols swap around the infected area plus a little more of the healthy tissue. If this is what you mean I would put this up in the SPS forum and you would get a more definative answer, I haven't got much experience with that
