Spray Painting PVC Pipes Question

I have the below spray paint from a previous project and I want to use it to spray paint some PVC piping that will be used for my return plumbing. A very small portion of this plumbing will be submerged in the return section of the sump.

Can anybody confirm if this is going to cause me any problems or not?

I have done some searching on here and google but not found anything conclusive.

Thanks

I hate leftover cans too. Does it say anything on the back of the can about whether it's good for plastic or not? Typical answer is that Krylon Fusion is specifically meant for plastic, but my recent troll through the spray can rack at the store found many others that had 'plastic' as one of the applicable surfaces. Clean the PVC well with acetone and even scuff it lightly with fine sandpaper for best results.

I have that same paint but decided to use krylon fusion. The fusion is nontoxic after it completely dries. I let it dry for 2 days before putting it in the tank. Be sure to scuff up the PVC before painting

Dont use that. The rust inhibitors are not a good thing.

Ive used krylon fusion for years and years to paint pipes in my reefs with no issues.

Dont take a chance over $8 and a trip to a store.

I'd like to know more about the LEGO robot behind the can.
Haha me too!

Use Krylon Fusion. Don't risk the wrong paint damaging your tank and poisoning your fish.

If you really want to be safe paint it, let it cure for 48 hours then submerge it in a bucket of water for another 48 hours, this will help leech any toxins off the paint into the bucket water.

I did this step when I painted my returns, no issues thus far and running 2 years strong.

hmmm I was just thinking about spraying vs the colored PVC the BRS has.

i used Krylon in the past but I left an few inches unpainted...
I might use white schedule 40 fitting and spray them black and go with a colored PVC .

in any cace I would use not use it. or at least dont paint the the part that goes in the water.

FYI you can spray paint over most glues after they have hardened.

Gives it a much cleaner look. I only paint piping exposed when looking at my DT everything below the stand is unpainted.

Look into what pvc leaches. Aside from paints. (those are bad too mmkay)

You might want to reconsider things. :) (I only stick with medical grade flexible tubing anymore)
