I had a lot of help building this. The guys i need to give credit to are the guys over at country critters in patchogue long island. Jonathan, his brother chris, and rest of team spent days and weeks plumbing and doing electrical. However all coral placement and interior design was myself.
Couple more, how thick is the glass, how much does it weight, how is the stand built, and by what means did you use to get it into your house? Thanks---Rick
Rick - ill find out exact glass thickness from builders. But this tank was installed in my walkout basement so they removed the double glass sliding doors and was able to get in that way. On a separate note, im at this residence only for another year and half as i am close to going into contract on a permanent house ie also needs 6 months of construction to fix up. At this new house i will be installing 2 tanks. , both will be way outside scope of anything residential on this whole site. We are contemplating putting in a 3500 gallon reef in my library. 14 foot long by 7 to 8 foot deep x 4 to 5 foot high. And another one in the basement that is wall to ceiling glass fish tank fowlr that is starting to measure close to ............. Fair to say 20k gallons. Wish me luck
hedgedrew,
Sounds exciting! Please tell your driver he needs to have camera at the ready.:spin1: Bet the fellows at Country Critters are looking forward to the new build, as I am sure the RC folks would be also. On your present tank I was curious how the guys carried in a tank that big or how they were able to moved something that heavy?
guys at country critters want me o give them one year in advance so as soonas i sign contract we will go to work with architechs drawing away. county critters actually has a tank set up like this size when you walk in but its used for big sharks and grouper type fish
