500 gallons for sumps plural. How many sumps. .? So far the system sounds a lot like the system i have set up now. I have about 900 gallon display and 400 gall sump and 2 water towers with 200 gallons each or 400 gallons of ro seawater. But takes couple days to fill. You have industrial ro water to make water faster.
500g sumps combined, I have a commercial RO unit that produces 1000g per day, along with large cylinders of DI and Carbon that last almost a year, so I can fill the 300g RO/DI tank in about 8 hrs when empty or just 4 hrs when half empty, which is how it's currently set up with the float switch

I would have thought you would had to change a much bigger percent of tank or are capable of doing like 5 per or more per day to do anything noticeable ie keep nitrates dn i mean your evaporation probably is close to 8 to 10 gallons per day. I understand koi change big amounts continuous like 10 per per day.
my evaporative loss is replaced separately by directly pumping 8-10g of RO/DI per day constantly as this remains fairly constant, I adjust it up or down maybe once or twice a year

3 seconds into the video and ..you win. No really, that is an outstanding tank. Small divides between sections of coral make it look like a neatly trimmed set of hedges. It displays, in my opinion the advantage of a large system. The video was a great intro and it makes you go through the thread.I am really impressed with this tank.

You might want to check into a culligan DI purification system. A client of mine uses one for his 6000 fish only and two reefs. He rents the cylinders and they come and change them out as needed. The water comes out the same flow rate as the tap, TDS is 0.00 and other parameters typically as good or better than good RO systems, and no waste water which can get pricey in such large amounts.
