Hey guys.
My tank is almost a year old and recently in the last six weeks I've been adding lots of SPS. They are all either doing amazing, or good. No issues so far.
Before I had all of the coral, my PH was bouncing between 8.1 and 8.35. Big swing. But now that I have corals that are growing, it's bouncing between 7.8 and 8.1.
My alk runs between 6 and 6.5
My Ca runs around 450
My mg runs about 1350
I run a vertex Ca reactor with a CO2 scrubber media on the skimmer. The PH in my reactor runs about 6.8 to 7.
I don't run a fuge with a reverse light schedule.
My question is this: could the addition of SPS to the tank affect PH and be the reason that it's running lower than it was before it was stocked? Nothing has really changed parameter wise as I've always had my alk around 6.5.
How do you, all keep your PH high if you have a similar setup?
Would love some ideas.
Thanks,
Joey
