Iam begging my parents to get me another tank:eek2: :rollface: for x-mas...

i was planning to get a clam and sps reef. are there any things that i should look out for? where do you guys get your clams?? are there any specifics that i should know about clams??

and finally for some insparation, can you show me some pics of your clams??

Clam and SPS tank? Heavy metal halide lighting, HEAVY protein skimming, heavy flow, and pristine water is what you need.

What are your plans, equipment-wise?

for equipment i want a protien skimmer, mh lights, a sump/refugium w/ microalgae and lr for filtration, some sort of wavemaker(weather electronic or a SCWID) and thats mainly it.

Recommend 75G at least. SPS and clams can use CA and Alk fast... I mean fast. If you have a heavy stock or SPS and/or large clams, you will need a calcium reactor as well. Even doing 2-3 times per day, people can have their calcium swing 50 PPM. The swing is no good - the idea is constant.

Research these organisms. They have different requirements from other types of coral.
