Sps and salinity

What is everyone running their tanks at?
I noticed mine elevated a little bit(1.030)..I have no ill effects and still good growth..color is so so..
Should I lower it? Can I keep it that high?
Here's my frags to show the growth and color...any input appreciated

I keep mine at 1.026 but I say whatever is working for you leave it alone. Your corals look happy.

I'm at 1.025 clearly 1.030 is working for you. I think the 1.026 us more like a guidance and what's more important is stability but I'm not an expert and many may say you should bring it down.

Did you make sure to recalibrate your refractometer just to be sure?

I run mine at 35ppt

Yea I've made sure my refracto is good, tested with different refractos..
I do seem to have good PE and my fish seem ok, just never really thought it would raise, I think because I upped my dosing is what's raising my salinity

if using a cheapo refractometer, or one not manufactured to seawater standards, you might be right on.

Adding MG increases salinity. If it creeps up too high, then you may take out a bit of water and replenish with RO/DI. Evaporation will cause creep up in salinity, too. Be sure to top of with RO/DI and not salt water.

Your coral looks good. Nothing to be concerned about.

Did you test it with calibration fluid? If it's going out of whack your salinity might end up too low while it keeps saying .030...

Most stuff can be OK if running this high, but if you have a hiccup with something else, they can RTN or suffer quicker. You are better off to be as close to NSW as possible.
