Hello everyone. Need some help please.
I have a large colony of green slimer & recently have noticed all of the growth tips are what looks like they are burnt. This morning I went to cut off some of those tips & found them very.. very soft & clearly dieing off. So I decided to clip all of them hoping this will help. Could this be caused by a sudden Alkalinity jump? My tank ALK is around 10 & usually closer to 8 or 9.
The only thing that has changed is about 2 weeks ago my Calcium reactor effluent got clogged & when I fixed it...some excess reactor water got pushed into the tank, enough to make the tank temporarily cloudy. This slimer happens to be growing directly in front of the return. By the way no other corals are affected at this point. The rest of the slimer looks good & polyps normal. Can I expect this coral will be ok or should I do more?? Please help.
