SPS colony not glued to rock.

Hey guys, i bought a wild SPS mili colony yesterday and i just left it lying on top of a rock, i know most of us buy frags and glue the base to a frag plug or rocks. Im wondering if its ok to just leave it lying on top of the rock? will it start encrusting on the rocks through its branches?

Here's a pic, the base at the back is whitish and the end is flat.

Yes it will grow onto the rock in time.I have a ausse acro that has started to grow onto the rock its been in my tank about a month.
