its not like a dying bleaching, but i can tell something is making them unhappy. Some of my colonies, esp up top in my tank have been losing color and geting more white, but not to a point of major concern. It has been this way for awhile now and just kind of lived with it. i think it may have something to do with my t-5 retro kit i added to my tank. I know my buddy switched to t-5 from halide and it bleached some of his sps. all i did though was add 2x54 watt super blue actinic t-5s. i currently have 2x250 watt radiums also on the correct PFO m81 ballast (what ive always had)
my question is , can this bleaching be related to the t-5's or over doing the light. my tank is a 18" deep 100 gallon tank. 2x250 watt radium (8hrs)
and 2x54 watt t-5 (3 hours)
my params are stable at 80 degrees .... 8-9 dkh and stable 410-430 ca and mag 1300.
i was thinking maybe they are under nourished? but that would cause them to brown out. any ideas? i can post pics to help
