Sps frags outgrowing plugs

As title says. I have a good handful of SPS frags outgrowing their plugs. They arent getting taller, just encrusting over the plugs and down onto the frag rack. What do you guys do then? Find a piece of rubble and glue the plug to that?

I try to mount on rock before it encrusts the frag plug but if it does i just cut off the stem of the plug and use a very small amount of superglue and epoxy to mount it down

That's why I have been working on this. It is a magnetic grow out frag rack. You put 9 1in square plugs in one of the sides. Place your coral on the middle plate and let it grow outward. Cut off the outer plates as it grows and replace with a blank plate for it to grow out again onto. Should be good for zoas and encrusting sps. those sort of things.

I don't have them listed on the website but I have a couple ready to go in black. $25 each. Tell you what I will do one to three different people in the area for $15 each if you use them and give me feed back on what you think.
I will reserve one for Chuck if he wants one for $15 to beta test since this is his post. So two more at $15 each. If Chuck does not want to try it then I will put it back out there.

Just how much control do you have with that printer? Can you make molds with it?

What kind of molds? Like frag plug molds. It is as good as its user.:lolspin: It can do about +/- .010". I can do just about anything I can draw but I try to keep most things on the easy side for simplicity.

That is a nice design :)

I love those frag racks. A couple of things I would do to make them better are:

1. Maybe find a way to secure those tiles. I know in my tank the fish and the flow would mess with them a lot. Maybe just a tall lip all around to they have to sit inside or a rubber band would do.

2. Make them universal so they can be used with regular plugs. Just add a circle to those square holes so each side can hold 9 regular plug or the 1" tile.
