SPS goes gray: help

Oh hai -

I have a "frag" tank set up with fish and some lps. Mostly to house smaller projects not ready for my main tank.

It has an overflow that's been messing up lately. When it does I have to turn off the return pump until I can get to it. So, powerheqds and heater are on but no filtration.

If it sits like this for more than six hours, the few SPS I have go gray. They will come back after a week or so.

I'm about to add a bunch of frags I just bought. Parameters all look good (alk was low, around 6). Going to do a 50% water change, but wondering if anyone has thoughts before I put $100 of good frags in there.

Can't really see the frag but honestly, that's no what to try to run things with sps.
So, I'd say don't buy any sps.
Fix your system, make sure it's stable and then spend the money.
