SPS Growth (Leading Edge)

Hi all. I have a single frag of a tan flesh/green polyp (not sure what kind, maybe i'll post an ID thread later - I know it's a deep-water coral though).

All my params are stable, light might be a little on the lesser side, but enough to keep the coral happy, and the flow in his spot of the tank is perfect for SPS.

My question is, I have seen a whole bunch of new polyps grow in on the sides, but the flesh isn't as tan as the rest of the frag - infact, it's almost white...but I know the coral isn't bleaching.

Is it bad that the leading edge of a growing SPS is a lighter color than the main body of the frag?

Ok, very cool. I just wasn't sure at what rate the coloration should have grown in on the flesh compared to the polyps.
