Hello,

Picked up a colony recently that looks exactly like the following:

This was taken from an article and they said it resembles a speciosa or caroliniana. Anyone know what it is?
 
I think in terms of the branches it looks to be speciosa, but it has a tabling formation which makes it somewhat unique to the typical speciosas we see coming in. My piece is not that purple though but hopefully will color up to that.
 
It's definitely possible that it's speciosa but structured (plating more so than branching) differently because of where it was collected.
 
it may be the environment But it looks way too smooth. This is the colony at carson I mentioned earlier. Do they look alike?

Yes that does look like what I posted. Got a full colony shot? I want to see if it's plating or branching.
