Hey guys,
I got some SPS that are loosing color, specialy Digitada. The orange turn pink/white, green turn very light green...
My water parameter are OK ( i Think ) Ca440, Kh8, Ph8.2, I have plenty of off light 2x250Mh14k + 1x400Mh20K + 3 60"VHO actinic, plenty of flow (3000g/h). I just can figure out what's going on. I suspect it the water because they change color also in the frag tank. The other SPS look fine, clams are happy, fish are happy, zoo's are happy, LPS are happy.... Could it be that a other coral is going after them? I'm puzzeled!
Any idea? Thanks,
JD

digitata tend to lighten up under high light, IME. Is your frag tank also running the same lights as your main tank ? What is your magnesium ? phosphates ? nitrates ? temperature ?

sounds like all your corals are just getting more light now in yoru tank, which is why they are getting lighter.

Thanks for the answers. Phosphate is very low, temp is 81/82, nitrates are 0 and i have no idea for the magnesium.
I think they adapting to but i did have some bad experience in the past that why i'm kind of worry.
Cheers,
JD

I've seen my sps fade out in color when my lights need replacing. Everything will begin to look washed out, or begin to brown down. After the lights are changed everything seems to color back up. So you might want to check how long it's been since you changed out your bulbs.
