bulbs and a chiller i own a jbj(old one)12g tank and also was
told could not have sps corals with my lighting i really want a clam
and sps corals any suggestions on this matter
currently have 1 pepperment shrimp
1 yellow watchman gobbie
2 o-clowns
xiena
and a coral i forgot name
2 rocks of zoo's one has 5 different kinds other has 2
10lbs live rock
arogonite sand(spelling)
live rock pebbles in sump
thanks in advance

i have halide lighting... but no chiller
the lfs is correct in general do more resasearch and you'll find a few clams and few types of sps corals that do not need high light
but most clams you see require the brighter light

(disregard the bleached montipora altasepta in this photo, i haven't found anyone who can keep thier color in captivity...)

i will try to take a new photo of the full front and show growth sequences.

This nano has been through a lot... red-bugs, montipora nudis, and AEF. I recently began running a skimmer and I have noticed color has decreased on some corals and there has been a recent bloom of silica based algae, but im blaming that on bad RO/DI, because its bled through several of my nanos

29 gal Via Aqua + 5gal CPR HOB refugium w/macro
skimerless -30-40% weekly water changes
NH3/NO2-Non Detect
NO3<5
I use randy's two part and try to keep Calcium at 420 and Alk between 10-11DKh

I feed the fish once a day durring the week and multipule times durring the weekend. LPS get target feeding at least twice a week. SPS get some of the cyclopeze I feed the fish, and recently 3 or 4 times a week I've been feeding Roti-feast.
