SPS ok but nothing else

I have had my 120g setup for a couple years now. I run 8 T5's on Icecap 660 ballasts with Icecap SLR reflectors over it. My SPS are doing ok, but anything else that I had in there has slowly withered away. My Zoo's are all gone, my Frogspawn and Toadstools are just about gone, stuff like that. I can't believe that there is too much light? Any ideas? Thanks!

I hd the sae problem with my t5s. they're a lot more intense than u would think. you really have tostart everything low in the tak. I lost a 200 dollar watermelon a few years back from t5s. now I us mh and two t5 for actintics.

Do you run carbon? It is usually suggested in mixed reefs. I have a hard time with both too, the flow is way to strong in my sps reef, they fade away... I set up a smaller less flow tank for my softies and lps. I agree t5s are underestimated in terms of strength, but doubt that is the cause. When you say the sps are doing ok, color and growth, I would imagine the flow has to be pretty good if that is the case. GL

Your tank may lack sufficient nutrients too. Your tank maybe too clean (which sounds crazy!). How is the color in your SPS? How is your bioload? how often do you feed?

I had a similar problem about 6 months ago. I increased feeding and my SPS colors were better and i was able to keep zoas alive. My frogspawn doubled in size and colored up as well.
