Hi,
I've had my tank setup for six months and in month four we've got a case of zoa eating spider infestation. Right now i've been doing the manual method of removal by catching the spiders and then pulling them out of the tank. I've even made videos of this on youtube, since i was removing so many. I've gotten 39 zoa eating spiders out already.
Starting in early August I discovered something was wrong with my zoas, which were beautiful previously. I discoveed a transparent spider one night eating my zoa colonies, then after i recognized them i began to find 3-6 every single day for weeks. The sheer numbers have been dwindling, but we still see one or two every other day. I'm now getting despondent. I'm tired of loooking for them, then getting them out manually. I wanna enjoy my tank. I want the zoas to not have to be stressed anymore. Though i do get some satisfaction of getting them out of my tank when i remove them manually, i'd rather be able to get rid of them all at once, or stop the multiplying process, so that someday i can adhere my zoas plugs back to their rock areas. We've had to take all the frag plugs off the rock in order to dip them with lugols.
I heard that incterceptor (via front line) can cure a tank of sps pest infestation, so i'm wondering if any of you sps folks who have LPS or softies, have had success with dosing interceptor in your tank. Ultimately i want to know of interceptor kills all the spiders and spider eggs, while not harming other lps softy corals/fish/imverts.
I know my pod population may not survivie the inceptor dosing but i can add more later if need be.

Thanks in advance, i appreciate any info you can give me.

Wow, this is a bit old. But in my dealings with the med, it works great. Both as a dip and as a mass treatment for the tank. My corals weren't harmed, and it wiped out all crustaceans(Pull your hermits and shrimp if you have any, Emeralds too). I mostly have SPS corals in the tank, and one Cyphastrea. Problem with Interceptor is, I believe it's discontinued. And am currently seeking an alternative to ridding another system of red bugs. I started another tank and found some bugs on the coral. Coral RX didn't help, granted I don't have the industrial strength version, but I also don't have anymore Interceptor. I currently have these new corals in a "hospital tank," just don't know how long they'll hold out.

I bought some a couple of months ago and I haven't heard of it being discontinued, but I have a mixed reef and it did fine with my in tank treatment. I didn't have a problem with a large pod dieoff or anything. They came back to normal numbers fairly quick.
