SPS prop by suspension: Reflection Question

I am considering the sps prop suspension design presented in the 2nd edition of A. Calfo's Coral Propagation book (pg 33 and 34 titled "Just Hanging Around"). My question of reflection is that with an open-top box design where the suspended corals would be w/ in, in the aquarium, were to be made of glass mirrors, would that be too much reflection? I plan to try this in an existing system, so i would build a box for a suspension area rather than put mirrors on the bottom and sides of a tank. Either way, when using 250 watt MHs 10K and 14K, are mirrors reflection overkill ? (probably depends on distance from the lights, which are hung about 12" above water surface) Would i be better off trying something more reflective than a white aragonite sand bed (suggested in the book), but not as reflective as mirrors?? I am keeping in mind the need for water flow, so i am also thinking of also constructing the box to have non perpendicular walls, perhaps a 120 degree angle from the bottom mirror, which would also keep the light from being over reflected, i guess, but also take up much more space. Anyway what do you guys think???

OK let's see. It looks like your thinking out loud purposing different ideas with one principle notion of getting the best lighting spread for your upside down frags. I'm more than a little sketchy on the details. And I only own the 1st edition of his book. What you propose all have merit, with the caveat that mirrors & saltwater don't go together. Take this to the man himself and head on over to the marinedepot forum. Anthony will be kind enough to share his ideas and experiences with you.
