SPS question

[A Reef Scene]

I see on some of my sps that there is some spots that are lighter in color. The areas are near a v in the coral branch. What could this be. The coral was attached until a week ago. Could this have been a area of shade that I never saw before? A second coral has lost tissue right at the tips on some of the branches. I'm worried about red bugs, any ideas? Have looked at the corals many times and cannot see anything moving. Any help would be great.

Red Bugs are almost impossible to see with the naked eye. Taking a macro image of the coral and blowing the image up helps a lot.

Burnt tips always makes me think alk burns.

Perhaps post an image of said corals.
