Very cool, Thang!
I remember cfloor posting his coral spawning as well..
Such a rare and amazing occurrence to see in a captive reef.
You are obviously doing something right, even if it isn't anything special.
Congrats!
The eggs look like alien babies being beamed up to the mother ship.

Thanks Matt.

I was in Montreal last. I totally forgot to pm you.

Thang. That is so cool.

You must have been quite excited when that happened? I assume this is a first for you.

How long did the event go on for (minutes, Hours)? I know you eat, sleep next to the tank so was it lucky timing to be there?

I experienced something similar (but nothing close). I had a PencilUrchin, and one day, it climbed to the top of rocks and released a ton of eggs while I was watching it's odd climbing behavior. I ran to get my camera but it ended before I got back.

But for your SPS to do this is quite amazing? What is just the one coral?

Congrats on catching the moment. You are famous in my mind.

Hey Thang..you should've sent me a message.. next time! :)

For sure. Thx.

I won't lie. I was ecstatic lol. The spawning lasted like 10 minutes and only with one coral.

Luckily no corals was harm by this event. I remember a few years back when 3 of my big clams decided to spawn at once. The results was devastating, 70% of my sps rtn within 12 hours and most of the colonies was from reef raft. I sold all the clams after that event and was surprised that I didn't make soup out of them lol.

I think they take their cue from a full moon or something. Could be yet another controller function... warning you the week before a scheduled spawning.

Dude this is amazing
Ive always wondered if you could catch the eggs and harvest your own stuff from like almost scratch :) lol

Very cool, how lucky to be there when it happened. Has there ever been a documented case of acro eggs growing into corals in an aquarium?

Thang,

I was so lucky to be at your house at the time of this happening.
My soon was excited to see this rare event happening in your aquarium.
your tank is beautiful, congratulations.

can I know what is your light schedule?
