I have a 125 gallon tank. 22" deep. I have purchasd the Aquaticlife 6 bulb T5HO unit for lighting. It has individual reflectors. Are there some SPS corals I should avoid or will all be fair game for this amount of light? I plan on purchasing aquacultured frags only.

I have a similar light on a 90 and have not found a coral or clam that does not like the light. I always had metal halide and was also afraid to make the switch to t5, but now glad I did.

I personally would go with more bulbs maybe 8 or 10, I have 6 T5 HOs over a 55 gallon I get good growth with my sps’s but think that since your tank is much deeper in width I would try to cover the entire top with bulbs.

I've got 6 over my 125. Same depth. I can grow sps wherever I want, and my maximas always have new growth even being on the sandbed.

Thanks for the responses. Makes me feel better some of you are using the same unit. I will have some Maxima clams as well. I'm looking foward to joins the SPS Maxima club.

Logan 12... The unit is actually 12 bulbs but its 6 36" bulbs on one side and 6 on the other.

Any suggestions on bulbs? The ones included aren't that good?

I overdrive 4 bulbs on my 120g (2ft deep) and have no problem keeping sps at the bottom. I'll bleach most corals if I'm not careful
