Spyglass Reef: 120 DIY LED SPS Dominant

I've shared this on a local RC thread, I hope that you'll like this tank. It's finally beginning to look like I intended it to. The sump is very DIY and merely functional, not pretty.

Specs: 48"x 24"x 24" LeeMar Custom EuroBraced. Front viewing pane low iron (Starphire).
Left rear corner overflow 2" drain. 3/4" return.

Flow: 2 Vortech MP 40, Sicca return pump ?4 about 1200 gph.

Filtration: settling 5 gallon reservoir
Old Euroreef skimmer (don't know model) with pinwheel Sedra pump.
1 cubic foot chaeto refugium CFL lit.

Apex controlled, 2 EB8, WXM, PM2 module

Lighting: 8 XML CW, 2 XPG CW, 4 red Osram, 4 green Cree, 16 Cree XPG Blue, 32 Cree XTE RB run on 3 channels of Apex.

Parameters: pH 8.3-8.5, salinity 1.0255-1.0262, temp 78.8-79.4, kH 9.5-10, Ca 470-480, Mg 1500, nitrate ND (Salifert), PO4 less than 0.03 ( Salifert).

Dosing 2part with DIY Dosers and Apex. Manual Mg dosing.

Cabinet: custom maple

lookin good, how many led's did you use in your diy, also what size/number of heatsinks. I am planning on making one for my 90 build, same dimensions xcept i think 18inches front to back.

Cichlid9- I believe I am at about 78 LEDs currently. I used 4 6x9 threaded drilled and tapped Heatsinks.

Trying this photobucket app to see if pics any better. My intent is to show a growth sequence shot. This is about 8 weeks between pictures.

Red Goniopora


This colony was purchased approximately 9 months ago. It has another coral burn a third portion about six months ago, but it recovered and is slowly growing back.
