I have a 75g reef tank with 440W of VHO lighting and the following inhabitants: yellow tang, blue tang, damsel, green chromi, ocellaris clowns, yellow clown goby, lawnmower blenny, skunk cleaner shrimp, various snails and hermits.

I was wanting opinions on whether a squamosa would be able to survive in my tank.

What should I look for when purchasing a squamosa clam? I want to make sure I don't get one that is on it's last leg.

Good coloratio(duh), reacts quickly when you shade the lights with your palm. not gaping, no nipping or tearing marks on the mantle. Most squamosas are quite hardy and it'll take a real messed up LFS to kill one.
