Square salt buckets

Does anyone use Red Sea salt mix in the square buckets? I am looking to get a couple of the empty buckets. Thanks John

John, if it helps I save the squarISH Tidy Cat cat litter pails with lid and wash them out. I have a couple empties if you want them. Some people are more nervous about used containers than me so I understand if it scares you.

Thanks Kevin I have 2 salt buckets coming but I will keep you in mind if I need more. The salt buckets are actually deeper than the kitty buckets and the depth is what I was looking for.

No big secret here, I am going to try the RDSB 'Remote Deep Sand Bed' in a bucket method as suggested by Anthony Calfo for nitrate reduction. The square buckets fit my available space a little better than the round ones. The round ones work perfectly fine other than being round.

I had a thread some time back with Shimek about DSB's in nano tanks. He said they would not work properly because many of the critters don't do well near the edge of the tank. If you rule out any serious critterrs in the outside 2-3 inches of the DSB that takles away much of the living space in a nano. You may have the same problem in buckets.

I don't use a DSB so I have no experience with this.
