Square spot anthias?

They have a few trios of these at the LFS, I was wanting to buy three of them. They are all females right now, I'm sure one will turn male.

My question is how hard are these to keep, I read they are one of the better ones to keep. My main concern is feeding. I don't want to have put live food in there every day.

they are not very good. Unless you have a huge tank with alot of small live food they won't do good. I put them on the list of 3 month fish. Fish that no mater what you do 9 out of 10 will be dead with in 3 months.

I thought they were suppose to be one of the easier ones to keep?

I have one male and two females for about a year now with no problems. When I first got them they hid and did not eat for about a week. Now they are always out and eat anything I put in the tank. They are one of the bigger anthias so as long as you have a decently sized tank, you should be OK.

The ones I'm looking at have been at the LFS for a week. I'll see if they can get them to eat before I buy them. If not I will not touch them.

Well I bought three of them today for $75 from the LFS, they are all about 3-4 inches long and I watched them eat at the LFS.

Just be sure they are eating before you buy them, also remember they are jumpers!

I watched them all eat before I bought them, they actually eat very well.

I bought plankton to feed them with outside of the formula 1 I feed.

I already have my tank covered after my painted fairy wrasse bailed out a week ago.

I guess I'll find out if my lights are to strong for them.

Well so far the smallest one seems to be the leased scared and eats anything I put in. The second biggest is taking a little and is more scared but spits most of the food out.

And the biggest is starting to show some intrest in the food but not taking anything yet and is by far the most scared.

I'm feeding formula 1 and 2 with added garlic + plankton with added garlic. None of them seemed to like the plankton to much, they just spat it out.
