I will be in st louis next weekend I am looking for something like the shed in chicago to go visit, Does anyone know of anything along the lines of this?

Also I will be staying downtown near the landing I know of gateway aqautics, any other LFS that wont want me to leave my arm or leg in order to crawl out with a couple pieces of coral? I will be heading up IL-55 to Springfield when I leave st louis any LFS I should stop at along the way?

Any tips or hot spots would be great!! Thanks in advance John

Unfortunately we do not have a public aquarium :( However, we do have several great vendors here in STL...check the link at the top of the page :)

Well that stinks..... I will more than likely check out what they have at the city museum I seen some 2 headed snakes on the website and noticed some marine life. I was looking for more salt only setup. I will probally end up a holding tank in the room and check out whats local, Brand new place they may not like that though.

Thanks for the fast resonse.

I think if you ask Leonard at the World Aquarium, he would consider it a "public aquarium". Not quite on the scale of Shedd but for now, that 's the best we can get.

This is in the City Museum and admission is required for the museum plus extra admission for the aquarium. It ends up being $18 total.

I was looking at the map of that place looks like its pretty good sized, I will more than likely visit there.

That gives me the feeling my stuff will be jacked from the car if i dont lol, why do you say that? ive traveled there before i know certain areas get rough quick.

I grew up in Chicago. The neighborhood in question doesn't look that rough. When my sister just moved here from Wisconsin ( a year ago), she didn't want to pay the parking fee. Someone busted out the back side window of her truck. Ended up getting her purse, an iPOD, and some other stuff. Yeah I told her it wasn't smart to leave her purse in there but she did it anyway. The stuff was not in plain sight and the back windows are tinted. Someone must have been watching. Within an hour of the break-in a person used one of her credit cards at a target and at a gas station. $1200 in charges. :(

I figured something like that, Ive seen alota stuff there, Made a wrong turn one day and had to back off the block due to a "BODY" in not so good condition laying in the road!!!! Crime scence tape wasnt up or anything, kinda bad deal with kids in car. I made the mistake of walking 3 or 4 blocks downtown last fall to the package liquor store have to admit I was a little nervous.

I know for sure there are/were 3 nurse sharks, 3 brown-bandeds and 1 leopard, my brother donated them after they outgrew his pond.

I went yesterday, and shark wise they have maybe 4 large nurse sharks, one pup, two brownbandeds, two black tip reef sharks, and a wobbigone (sp). I loved the 2000+ gallon puffer tank, but some of the other fish didn't look to good. The large sharks are in a 35,000 gallon pond.
Thanks for letting me know about it.

I went on saturday night, Thanks for the tip!! great place, I agree some of the fish where sick, others looked great. I loved the giant clam. O cant forget as a 26 yr old lil kid I had to go down the slide that goes through the shark pond!!! also cant belive that wired play setup with the airplane and all that. We plan to take the 5yr & 2yr there they would love it.

Also left the car in the hotels lot and took a taxi, there was sixof us, we got a drivers personal cell # and used him all night, 6ppl 2 cars this definalty was cheaper than pay parking,,,,,,,,or paking on the street.
