Stacking Siporax

Hi All,

I am working on putting some siporax in my sump. Sump has only 2 sections so first egg crate basket I plan to put return pump section then maybe I will fit in the first section where my skimmer , media reactor, heater and chiller pump sits

Is it ok to put return pump section ?

I have 15mm and it is very difficult to stack them as straight columns..do we really need to align each layer of siporax exactly same or no need to build siporax columns , just place each layer randomly?

I just have mine in a bag, but I really don’t know if they are working or not. I have seen people say that they used straws to stack them in the basket. Just put the straws through one and stack them that way to keep them from falling over. Once all are don pull the straws out.
