I know titanium is the ideal for a cooling element in saltwater tanks, but I was wondering how stainless steel is in sw aquaria?

Thanks,
Phil

303 or something of that nature will rust....something like a 316 grade is less likely to rust. Any400 series grade will rust....that grade and 17-4 was made to heat treat. Any questions....pm me.....I work with stainless steel everyday.

SS316 , Marine grade SS , used in Nuke reactors , under water salt water structures, oil drilling platforms, extremely saltwater resistant .

Tred ebay? There's some from 1/4" OD to I think over 2". I have no way of knowing if the prices are reasonable or not, though.

Search on "titanium tube" then pick "Manufacturing & metalworking" from the picklist on the left. Or use this link (if I can get it to work)
